INFORMATION ABOUT POSTING SCORES
Due to the failure of some members posting scores after a round, the Senior's Board has decided to notify members
of the Board's position on this matter.
The NCGA, in response to this problem, has advised the Board that members should be educated on the NCGA rules.
If the rules are not followed, the Board is authorized to post penalty scores for members.
The NCGA rules are taken from "The NCGA Handicap Manual". These rules are as follows and must be adhered to for
valid handicaps.
Section 5-2, Posting Scores: Posting scores in person immediately following the round at the course where the round
is played is the preferred way to expose scores to peer review. This method of posting must be used whenever possible.
The Handicap Committee may adopt a policy to accept scores returned by electronic means. The Board's policy is that
scores must be posted within 2-3 days.
Section 4-1, Unfinished Holes & Conceded Strokes: A player who starts, but does not complete a hole or is conceded a
stroke must record for handicap purposes the most likely score, The most likely score may not exceed the player's
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) limit. (Section 4-3) This most likely score should be preceded by an "X".
Note; An Equitable Stroke Control Chart is posted above the computer in the Pro Shop.
Section 5-2-f, Committee Posting Scores for a Player: If a player fails to post a score, the Handicap Committee may post
the score without the player's authorization.Note: This posting process is being done at this time. For lack of a better
solution this scores is marked with a "T". In the event a player does post later this "T" score is deleted.
Section 8-4-b, Penalty Scores: If a player fails to post an acceptable score as soon as practical after completion of the
round. the Handicap Committee should post the score and/or a penalty score and ratings equal to the lowest Handicap
Differental in the players scoring record.
If there ia any question regarding this matter, please contact Bernie Wyman or any member of the Board.
Thanks, Bernie Wyman, Handicap Chairman (1/19/12)
